The Alcester Mop is held on the first Tuesday in October and incorporates ale, fish and flesh tasting and bread weighing, followed by a charity auction. Alcester Court Leet's records indicated it was probably constituted in 1272 and had continued functioning from that time without a break, albeit with ever decreasing powers. Officers elected are the High Bailiff, Low Bailiff, Constable, Town Crier and Beadle, Marshall to the Court, two Ale Tasters, two Fish and Flesh Tasters, two Bread Weighers, two Affearors, Searcher and Sealer of Leather, Surveyor of Highways, Brooklooker and Hayward.
